PAINTING WITH MADONNA AND CHILD LATE 18TH CENTURY
Author : Scuola Veneta
Period: Second half of the 18th century
Price: € 1.800
Beautiful oil painting on wood panel, set in a period frame made of carved wood and gilded with gold leaf, to which wooden supports from the same period have been added to adapt it to the frame. The painting depicts the Madonna unveiling the baby Jesus. The woman wears canonical clothes, with a red dress and a blue veil, surmounted by a thin halo of stars. With her hands, she holds the swaddling clothes of the baby Jesus, who is naked with a radiant halo. The stylistic rendering of the details and the expressed sweetness are appreciated in this painting, highlighted by the heads of the mother and son touching and their intense gazes. The colors are original and very few restorations are noted. This is a painting of great taste and style, capable of giving elegance and a touch of antiquity to any environment. Manufacture attributable to the Venetian School, around the end of the 18th century. Measurements: H x W x D overall 44.5 x 36.5 x 4cm; H x W only artwork 35 x 27cm
