Wonderful tapestry made with a wool and silk weave, depicting the famous "Hot Cockles" game. This ancient social game was very popular in past centuries and often depicted in artworks. In the center of the tapestry, there are six figures dressed in noble attire from the 1700s, immersed in a forest. A man with a blue jacket, reclining on the legs of a lady with his hand open behind his back, turns towards the woman standing with a garland around her neck, who has jokingly struck him, as indicated by the other figures. The cheerful atmosphere of the scene is highlighted by the smiles of the characters, while the elegant and worldly air is emphasized by the clothes and gestures of the protagonists. The tapestry and the scene are further enriched by a border with spirals and garlands of roses and leaves. The work is in excellent condition, with bright colors and a high-quality production technique. It is believed that the tapestry was produced at the renowned French Royal Manufactory of Aubusson, in the third quarter of the 18th century. It is a unique work, rich in history and great value, capable of embellishing any environment with elegance.
