SMALL BRONZE STATUE OF CHILD WITH CAP BY P. PIRAINO EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Period: Early 20th century
Elegant bronze bust, made using the lost wax technique and hand-chiselled. The sculpture is mounted on a yellow marble parallelepiped base, which enhances its stability and support. The bronze represents the face of a smiling child, with a sweet grimace and a cap that delicately protrudes from one side. It is a work of high sculptural quality, characterized by great realism, capable of enriching any environment with refinement. This bronze is attributed to the celebrated Sicilian bronze sculptor Pietro Piraino (1878-1950), whose signature is visible on the back.
