Beautiful fragment of tempera painting on a gold background, applied on a wooden tablet, depicting Saint Thomas Aquinas. The saint is dressed in the Dominican habit, characterized by a white wool tunic with a hood and a dark wool cape; his hair also reflects the characteristics of the monastic order. His gaze, frontal and almost penitent, is accentuated by a halo engraved in the decorations on the golden background. In the lower part of the composition, there is a plant and a book, which Saint Thomas holds in his hand. It is a work of great value and refinement, capable of enriching with history and beauty. It is attributed to an anonymous Sienese painter active between the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries. Measurements: H x W x D 25 x 16 x 1.5cm
