Wooden chest painted in the first half of the 18th century
Period: First half of the 18th century
Price: € 2.200
This chest in painted poplar with lean tempera, with a particular decoration with grid patterns, is a piece of furniture with a charming and rich in details appearance. Its shape resembles an ancient chest, giving a touch of allure and mystery to the environment in which it is placed. Coming from a manufacturing company in the Marche region, in the Papal States, in the first half of the 18th century, it was made using poplar wood. The wood has been painted with lean tempera, which gives a opaque but luminous finish to the furniture. One of the most fascinating details of this chest is the particular decoration with grating motifs. Inside, the chest hides a small box dedicated to candles. When opened, this box turns into a shelf support, offering a useful space to place objects or create a work area. Measurements: H x W x D 57 x 140 x 49cm
