PAIR OF GILDED WOOD CANDELABRA, MID-18TH CENTURY
Period: 18th century
Price: € 2.000
This pair of table candelabra is a fine example of mid-18th century Tuscan manufacture. Made of carved wood and finely gilded in pure gold, these candelabra exhibit high craftsmanship and refined aesthetic taste. Their "tab-shaped" silhouette indicates a typical characteristic of the Baroque period, which developed extensively in the 17th century and continued to influence 18th century design. This particular shape, reminiscent of a small board, is supported on the back by metal parts, which give solidity and stability to the object. The wood carving shows finely crafted details, such as floral motifs, intertwined leaves and sinuous volutes. These decorative elements are arranged in a symmetrical and harmonious order throughout the candlestick, giving a sense of balance and beauty to the entire composition. The pure gold gilded finish gives splendor and brightness to the object, creating an elegant and refined effect. Measurements: HxWxD 66 x 40 x 7cm.
