Splendid and elegant clock in mercury-gilded bronze, a perfect example of the neoclassical style. The clock is finely decorated with recurring symbols of this style, such as the shepherd boy in Roman toga, the lamb surrounded by a laurel wreath, and the friezes depicting doves in a gesture of love, thus recalling the art and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. This clock works perfectly, striking the hours and half hours. It is a weekly wind and the pendulum suspension is made with silk thread. French manufacture from the late 18th century. A true decorative and functional piece, which adds elegance and charm to any environment in which it is placed.
