This pair of friezes, used as decoration on the door architrave, represents an example of excellent Florentine manufacture from the late 18th century. The friezes are inspired by classical Renaissance decorations, but have been revised and corrected according to the taste of the time. This means that the details of the friezes have been adapted to the period in which they were made, always respecting the characteristic elements of the Renaissance style. Made of Swiss pine wood, the friezes have a solid and elegant structure. Every detail has been taken care of with great precision, demonstrating the mastery of the Florentine craftsmen. The finish of the friezes is truly amazing: painted with rich and vibrant colors, they were then covered with pure gold leaf.
